Putting Trust in the Voters

Throughout our history, many have fought and died for the right to vote so that their children and grandchildren could live in a country of equality and opportunity for all. Our nation is strongest when every voice is heard and every vote is counted. We have made progress, but our work is far from over.

I believe the power should always be in the voting booth. I will fight to protect the rights of voters and against any attempts to limit access to the polls. We cannot participate in the politics of the past if we want to lead in the future.  That’s why I have fought hard for a full, state-run primary in our district.  As Democrats, we should always rely on the method for choosing our candidates and our leaders that includes as many voters as possible.  We cannot be the party of opposition to Trump’s egregious voter ID and suppression laws and then try to limit our own processes.  It is simple, you either trust voters or you don’t – I do.
